Dorothy Mae Johnson

Dorothy Mae (Kent) Johnson was born November 30, 1928 to Louise Lemons in Montgomery Alabama. She went home to the Lord peacefully in her sleep on Friday May 8, 2015. Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband Timothy Kent Sr., and second husband, William M. Johnson Jr.; her eldest son Timothy Kent, Jr., daughters Selena Kent, Linda and Garnetta Johnson; brothers W.C. and Eddie Derrico; sisters Elizabeth Howard and Ernestine Boyd. Dorothy leaves behind to mourn her passing - son William Johnson III, daughters Valencia (Mark) Merrill and Toniya Benson; sister Ruth Carson, grandsons Timothy Kent III, William Michael Wright, Ronald A. Benson II, and Miles A. Benson; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great grandchildren and other family members. The viewing will be Thursday May 14, 2015 at 6:00 PM at R.G. & G.R Harris Funeral Home, 15251 Harper Avenue, Detroit, MI 48224. Going home services will be presided over by Pastor Robert Hunter and held on Friday May 15, 2015 at 11 AM at Grace Church of the Nazarene, 18020 Hoover Road, Detroit, MI 48205. Immediately following, interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery, 1200 Elmwood Avenue, Detroit, MI 48207.
