Denise Irene Chirillo

May 20, 1956 — December 3, 2022

Denise Irene Chirillo (Tomes), age 66, of Redford Township, Michigan, went to her “forever” Heavenly home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on December 3rd, 2022. Denise was born on May 20th, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan, to Robert and Irene Tomes (deceased). Loving mother of Robert (Kate) Tomes, Steven (Nikki) Tomes, Ted Tomes and Daniel Tomes (deceased) and beloved Grandmother of Asher, Jude, Nora, and Clara Tomes and dearly loved Sister of Mark & Susan Purkiss. Denise spent her life in Michigan and had two great loves in her time on earth: First, she absolutely adored her family. There is no doubt that Denise is delighted to be reunited with her son Daniel as well as the rest of her beloved family that preceded her. Second, she had a great love for all animals. It gave her great joy to feed all the strays, birds, squirrels, and rescue animals from injuries to adoption. Her Heavenly mansion is surely filled with animals and lots of love. Denise was also an extremely talented artist ranging from drawing and painting to all kinds of “creative” crafts. Her artistic talent also displayed itself in her beautiful singing voice in her younger years. In her later years, Denise loved to crochet and blessed many with her wonderful crochet gifts. Denise found much joy in the daily little things in life such as sending gifts, planting, and watching her grandchildren grow, even if it was from afar. Last but certainly not least, Denise loved her Father God, Son of God, Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit and was involved in a weekly Bible Study and a weekly prayer meeting with family and friends. She enjoyed streaming church services every week watching Beth Yeshua International (Getzel Messianic Jewish Congregation located in Macon, Georgia led by Rabbi Greg Hershberg). A memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held Sunday, January 15, 2023, at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home in Garden City, 31551 Ford Road, Garden City, MI 48135. Visitation begins at 10:30 a.m. and will be followed by a Celebration of Life Service at noon with a luncheon immediately following the Service. Memorial Contributions may be made to Humane Society of Huron Valley (Ann Arbor, Michigan) @ hshv.org and given in memory of Denise I. Chirillo.
