Darrin D. Wubbenhorst

Darrin Wubbenhorst, of Livonia, passed away unexpectedly on November 13, 2023, at the age of 53.

Darrin is survived by his loving wife, Molly Wubbenhorst (Price); sons Ty Wubbenhorst and Lucas Kyle; father, David Wubbenhorst (Lois); sister, Kerry Chaffin (Mark); nieces, Madyson and Morgan Chaffin, many cousins, and countless friends.

Darrin is predeceased by his mother, Donna Wubbenhorst; grandparents, John and Anna Wubbenhorst; and grandparents, George, and Mae Fernet.

Darrin was born in Troy, New York on August 5, 1970, to David and Donna Wubbenhorst.  He graduated from John Glenn High School in 1989.  He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1990, where he proudly served his country.  He worked at Allied Building Services as a National Service Department Integrator.

On August 18, 2012, he married the love of his life, Molly.  They shared an immense love, completed one another, and began building their life together.

He loved football and was passionate about teaching others the game.  He was a dedicated football coach and impacted countless lives through his coaching.  He coached football for the John Glenn Rockets, Wayne Memorial Zebras, as well as semi-pro teams, Michigan Twisters, Detroit Seminoles, and the Detroit Dark Angels.  He also coached for the Westland Comets, then retired to be a dad on the sidelines.

Darrin was an avid fisherman and enjoyed being out on the water every chance he got.  He loved music and dancing.  He also loved vacationing with his wife Molly and traveling to new places.

Darrin impacted so many in a myriad of ways.  He was a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, coach, Marine, mentor, and friend and was devoted to all of his roles.  To know Darrin was to love him.

A Visitation will be held at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd., Livonia Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 1:00 – 8:00 PM and on Sunday, November 19, 2023 from 1:00 PM until his Funeral Service at 3:00 PM.
