Darlene Marie Stevenson

Darlene Marie Stevenson, age 82, of Plymouth MI, died peacefully on June 22nd, 2020, surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents Lyle and Lorraine Smith, brother Roger Smith, sister-in-law Elsie Smith, and grandson Logan Lundy. Darlene will be dearly missed by Bob, her devoted husband of 66 years, her 3 children Robert (Jill), Lori (Jim) Lundy, Linda (Mark) Mitchell and 5 grandchildren; Nick (Chelsie) Stevenson, Jonathan Lundy, Kendall Stevenson, Anna and Ellie Mitchell. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Anne Varney, nieces Susan and Jill, nephew Rick and countless friends. Darlene’s life revolved around her love of family, friends and the Lord. She was involved in folk music (played the autoharp), dirt bike riding and the Michigan Jaguar Club for over thirty years. She also created one of the most beautiful gardens in the neighborhood. She was thoughtful, loyal, generous, and kind. You would be hard pressed to find someone who loved celebrating Christmas and gift giving more than Darlene. Her family will always cherish those memories. Darlene’s faith, feistiness, and tenacity helped her overcome a number of health issues. She was an inspiration to many. A celebration of Darlene’s life will be held at Bell Creek Community Church on Saturday June 27th, 2020. Visitation at 12:30 pm and Memorial Service at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids (1806 Bridge Street NW, Grand Rapids MI 49504) an organization close to Darlene’s heart.
