Clarence Evans, Jr.

September 13, 1948 — March 6, 2024

Charles C. Evans Jr. “Charlie” passed away on March 6, 2024, surrounded by family at the age of 75. He is survived by the love of his life Rose Mary Finley Evans, his wife of 55 years, who now resides in Livonia, Michigan. Charlie was a loving and dedicated father to their three children, Kerri (Michael) Harris, Jennifer (Scott) Wolfe, and Kyle (Toni) Evans. He was also the proud grandpa of ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren as well as many “bonus kids” who adoringly called him “Dad.” Charlie and Rose always had an open door and heart for anyone that needed love and memories. They cherish the times they had with their nieces and nephews.

He was born on September 13, 1948, in Flint, Michigan, and raised in Lake Fenton by the late Clarence C. Evans Sr. and Joyce Adair Evans. He is survived by his sister Sheila Mansfield and brothers Norman Cole and Marc (Rosemaire) Rideout and is preceded in death by three sisters, Ann Rush, Charlene Boone, and Myrna (Bob) Lawless, along with his furry sidekick Kieko.

Charlie was a proud UAW retiree and dedicated 35 years at General Motors in Grand Blanc, Michigan. He was a popcorn and movie connoisseur and enjoyed playing cards, fishing with his best friend Mike, hunting, camping, bowling, and spending time with his family and friends. Going to Port Huron and watching the boats or sitting near the airport to watch the airplanes with a bucket of chicken were two of his favorite things to do. He lived for his children and supported them in all they did; he was a coach, a Girl Scout and Boy Scout troop leader, and someone they could laugh and cry with.

With a larger-than-life personality and clever sense of humor, he filled every room with love and laughter. He never went a day without making someone smile, and his fun, loving, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind.

In honor of Charlies’ wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a date, time, and location to be determined. The family would love to get emails or letters with memories from everyone to create a memory book. Please send to, [email protected] or [email protected] , or message for an address. In lieu of flowers, spread fun, love and happiness, and make someone smile everyday.

Please share a memory by signing his Guestbook.
