Charles R. Mcgowan

Charles R. McGowan, aka "Chuck", "Skip", "Pops", or as he would say, "You can call me anything, just don't call me late for dinner", age 67 passed away peacefully on July 27, 2012 at home surrounded by those who loved him most. Chuck retired from General Motors after 32 years. He was a great husband, father and grandfather. He was an excellent golfer and he enjoyed teaching it to his grandson Josh. Chuck also had a deep interest in history which he shared with his grandson Jake. His other interests were reading, researching his family and their Irish heritage, movies and a good bowl of ice cream……as well as any other dessert. He was a very smart man who had knowledge of every topic imaginable and had a great sense of humor. Chuck is survived by Jane, his loving wife of 49 years; children Shannon (Brian), Mike (Heather), and Kevin; and grandsons Joshua and Jake. He is also survived by siblings Colleen, Mark (Cathy), Tawny (Maureen), and Shawn (Sheila). He was a special brother-in-law to John (Debbie) and Tom (Judy) Detherage. He was also loved by his many nieces and nephews. Charles was an honorable man who will be missed by many but who provided a multitude of memories for us all.
