Carolyn E. Parent

Carolyn E. "Terry" Parent 72; of Livonia; died after a most valiant fight against cancer on January 8, 2008. Terry was the beloved wife of Richard who was her best and dearest, life long friend and love. Their marriage of 55 years was a source of great pride for Terry (and Richard) and an inspiration to all who knew them. Truly devoted to one another they settled in Livonia 50 years ago and raised a strong, loving family of six children. Being a homemaker and wife was something Terry loved to do. She considered it her calling. It was very apparent too, as she made her FAMILY her passion. Terry loved to travel. She enjoyed many wonderful experiences all over the world. She loved learning about different cultures and visiting their habitats. A trusted friend and confidant Terry honed her talents as a great listener as she journeyed through life and offered much of her wisdom and comfort freely to those who were close to her. Her companionship will be missed by all the people whose lives she touched. She is survived by her husband Richard S. Parent. Her children Mary (Doug) Bidinger, Kathleen wife of her son the late Richard W., Cheryl (Gary) Leys-Norden, Steven (Ellen), Thomas (Cheryl), Joseph (Suzanne), twenty grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Kathryn Sullivan of Walnut Creek California, and Sister Helen Miriam of Cincinnati, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors at R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Road, Livonia, MI 48154 on Thursday, January 10, 2008 from 5-9p.m. and Friday, January 11, 2008 from 12-9p.m. a Scripture Service at 7 p.m .is planned. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Aidan’s Catholic Church, 17500 Farmington Road, Livonia, MI 48150 on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation at 9:00 a.m. in the vestibule before Mass.
