Carlton H. Pritchard

Carlton H. Pritchard 11-07-1933 To 05-22-2021 Carlton H. Pritchard of Westland died at the age of 87. He passed away Saturday morning peacefully in his sleep. Carlton was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by wife Marilyn C. with whom he shared over 62 years, of a loving marriage. He is also survived by daughter Cynthia (Richard) Zanavich, Sandra (Christopher) Koontz, grandchildren Rebecca, Bradley, and Sean and 12 great-grandchildren. Carlton was a veteran of the Korean war. He served onboard the aircraft carrier USS Princeton. During his service he received the National Defense Medal and China Service Medal. In 1957 he completed his service and received an honorable discharge for his service to his country. Carlton spent the following years raising his children building a wonderful life for his family and himself. he worked 2 full time jobs for many years to make that happen. He loved life, he was an avid fisherman, he also loved camping and he was a skilled and fierce card player. On his travels through life he found Merriman Road Baptist Church where he had served God and his fellow man holding true to his nature. After years of serving and being with his church he was honored with the appointment of Deacon. He served his church until his last days. Visitation will be held at R.G & G.R. Harris Funeral Home at 31551 Ford Rd., Garden City, Wednesday, May, 26 from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Thursday May, 27th from 12 :00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. He will be laid in state at Merriman Rd Baptist Church, 2055 Merriman Rd., Garden City, Friday, May 28, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until his Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.. After the service he will be taken to his final resting place at Parkview Cemetery located at 34205 Five mile Rd., Livonia. Carlton will be laid to rest with military honors.
