Carl Smereck

Carl Smereck Passed away at age 92 on June 15, 2017, after a brief illness. He was born in Winona, Minnesota. As the son of Theodore, a lithographer, and Mary Smereck, he lived in many cities with the family including Winona (MN), Sacramento (CA), El Paso (TX), Little Rock (AK), Chicago (IL), and finally Detroit. He graduated from Cass Technical High School. He then graduated from Wayne State University in engineering, and worked as an engineer primarily at The Ford Motor Company in Electrical and Design Engineering. His life was very much centered around his immediate family. He is survived by his children Gary (Lynne), Dr. Susan Smereck (Hamid Mohammadi), and Dr. Karen Smereck. Also survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many loving friends. He is the brother of the late Arthur (Irene). He loved life with his beloved late wife Mary for 66 years. His warmth, loving devotion and kindness will be missed very much. Visitation Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd at 5 Mile, Livonia, from 5 - 9 p.m. and Sunday, June 18, 2017 from 1 - 9 p.m. A Memorial Panikhida Service Sunday at 7 PM.
