Wockenfuss, Bernard Charles “Wocky” A 52 year resident of Livonia MI. Formerly of Baltimore, MD., age 89, died Thursday, August 26, 2004 at Heartland Health Care Center, Dearborn Heights, MI. A Funeral service will be held at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd., Livonia, MI. Rev. John Grenfell Jr. will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1pm until time of Funeral Services at 5 pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Michigan Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. Bernard was born July 2, 1915 in Salisbury MD. the first son of Herman C. & Ryda B. (nee Hudson) Wockenfuss. He lived in Baltimore, MD until 1942. and worked in his father’s candy business as a boy. He went to Johns Hopkins University from 1934-1935, General Motors Institute from 1936-1940, University of Michigan Plastics Engineering School in 1944, University of Del Floriculture School in 1947, Harvard University in 1964. When he graduated from GMI, he went to work for General Motors Co. and retired after 39 years in April of 1974. He married Beatrice L. Wallace Jan 11, 1941, she preceded him in death on March 25, 1975. He then married Eliza Lou Cordes, October 10, 1975, she preceded him in death June 15, 2000. He is survived by 3 daughters; Suzi and husband Thor Stevenson of Delmar, DE, Katie and husband Bob Parker of Millsboro, DE., and Betsy Spence of Dearborn Heights, MI. Preceded in death by daughter; Judy Lynn Lundy. Grandfather of 9, and great grandfather of 13. He also has 4 stepsons; Kurt and wife Marianne Cordes of Kennewick, WA., Craig and wife Charlene Cordes of Orem, UT, Keith Cordes of Fairbanks, AK. and Carl Cordes of Honolulu HI.
