Barbara J. Therrian

Barbara Jean Torvinen Therrian, 50, of Farmington Hills, MI passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills. Beloved daughter of Wilfred and Hazel (Coponen) Torvinen of Houghton, MI, Barbara was born on July 28, 1954 at St. Joseph Hospital in Hancock, MI. After graduating from Ontonagon Area High School class of 1972, Barbara resided in the Detroit area where she raised three children and worked for nearly two decades as a medical assistant. She had many interests and enjoyed various hobbies, including painting and gardening. Barbara’s true calling was that of devoted mother and was eagerly awaiting the births of her first three grandchildren. Barbara will be greatly missed by: her parents, loving husband, Walter Therrian, two sons, Ralph (Kim) Heikkinen of Commerce Township, MI, Richard (Melissa) Heikkinen of Redford, MI, daughter, Sara (Kevin) Baer of Southfield, MI, three brothers, James (Joyce) Torvinen of Chassell, MI, Robert (Priscilla) Torvinen of Linden, MI, Michael (Kamela) Torvinen of Farmington Hills, MI, two sisters, Michelle (Kevin) Hupp of Chassell, MI and Julie (Jeff) Thompson of Garden City, MI, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her brother John, sister Judy and grandparents, Urho and Martha Coponen and John and Matilda Torvinen. Viewing will be held Sunday, January 2, 2005 at Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Road, Livonia, MI from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 3, 2005 at 10:00 am.
