Arvia "Lee" Karas

Arvia Arhena Karas ~ Lee Born Feb 20th 1945 to Beatrice Sabish & Ragor McCrayly in N. Allis Twp, MI. She enjoyed reading, nature, fishing, bingo, card games, music especially rock & roll and her family. She was a great cook in her early years rarely using recipes. She loved the holidays and her & her husband's love of celebrating is carried on thru her children and grandchildren. Lee was raised in Onaway, MI later moving downstate attending Utica High School until the tenth grade. She was oldest daughter of 5 children of Beatrice ~ Chuck (d), Laura (d), Karl & Mary. She left high school and started working. She soon started working in a linen factory where she met her husband Stan. They married in Jan. of 1963 and raised 3 sons ~ Keith, the late Brian & Steve. In 1994 they retired to Houghton Lake and enjoyed life together and she especially liked being up north again. When her husband passed, she was lucky enough to share time with her 2nd son, Brian and eventually share a home with him. After Brian passed in 2014, she moved to Westland, MI & started life over again at Thomas Taylor Towers. Survived by sons Glenn (Sheila), Keith & Steve (Vicki) Grandsons: Danny (Rebecca), Kyle (Melissa), Dean, Alex, Kurt, Shawn,Adam Great grandkids, aunt, nieces, nephews & friends. A Visitation will be held at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 31551 Ford Road, Garden City on Monday, January 3, 2022 from 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7 pm. .
