Anthony Prokopenko Of Livonia, Age 82 died peacefully on December 9, 2021. Beloved husband of Janice for 52 years. Loving father of Krysten (Sean) Baligian & Kira (Jayson) Macyda. Dear grandfather of Jack, Lauren, & Brooke. Brother of Larisa Roth. Uncle of Sylvia Ismet & Gary (Joy) Ismet. Born in Staraya Russa, Russia, Anthony was the son of Nikolai and Praskowja (Nadion) Prokopenko. Anthony and his mother, aunt, and sisters fled to Latvia during WW2. He lived in displaced persons camps in Latvia and Germany in the 1940s, and ultimately immigrated to the USA in 1950. Anthony graduated from Chadsey High School in 1960. He served in the US Army overseas before proudly becoming an American citizen. Anthony went on to enjoy a successful career as a metal model maker, retiring from Ford Motor Co. after 30 years. A Visitation will be held at the R.G. & G.R. Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Rd, Livonia Sunday, December 12, 2021, from 3 - 7 PM; a Panikhida (prayer service) will be held at 3 PM. Instate at the Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church, 36075 West Seven Mile Rd., Livonia Monday, December 13, 2021, from 10 AM until his funeral service at 11 AM.
