Ann Gallagher July 18, 2016. Age 88. Wife of the late John. Loving mother of Gil, Jim, and Joann (Dick) Sluka. Proud grandmother of Ann (Greg) Lukshaitis of Portland, Oregon. Ann was born to James and Catherine Mackenzie in Largs, Scotland on September 21, 1927. She came to Detroit as an infant. She married John (Lefty) Gallagher on St. Patrick's Day in 1950. They raised their family on West Parkway on Detroit's west side. After retiring in 1985, Ann and Lefty spent many years enjoying their cottage on Eagle Lake near Mancelona, and spent winters in Perdido Key, Florida with many of their old friends from the "group" from Northwestern High School. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Isobel (Bunt), brother Bill, her special niece Catherine Gunn, and many wonderful friends. The family would like to thank the good people at the Medilodge of Milford for taking such good care of Ann during the last year of her life. Per Ann's request she has been cremated. A family graveside internment service will be held at Parkview Memorial Cemetery on August 26, 2016.
